Neil Barratt joined the Compliance & Enforcement team at the CRTC in May 2017. As Director, Electronic Commerce Enforcement, he is responsible for promoting compliance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation including outreach and enforcement activities.

Mr. Barratt has over a decade of experience in policy development and implementation. Most recently, from 2014 – 2017, Mr. Barratt led the Strategic Policy and International Affairs teams at the CRTC, overseeing comparative research and establishing relationships with foreign regulators and international agencies.

Katherine is a Senior Consultant with Newport Thomson, specializing in policy and compliance. With extensive training and research in CASL & GDPR she is able to assist clients with simple guidance or delve deep into navigating the complex issues involved in operationalizing policy within an organization.

Derek is a private sector expert in CASL – our new Canadian Anti Spam Legislation. He has written “CASL Compliance: A Marketer’s Guide to Email Marketing to Canadians” to help organizations with their CASL compliance efforts.

In a distinguished career of well over three decades, he has consistently combined entrepreneurial spirit with street-smart marketing while working with major international brands such as Canon, Air Canada Vacations, Arthur Andersen Co., Pioneer Electronics, AGFA Film, American Express Merchandise Services, and many others.

Derek is Managing Partner of Newport Thomson, a data & privacy compliance firm based in Toronto. Their CASL Keep™ program can bring an organization to full compliance within 60 days by executing the 5 stages of CASL compliance. Derek is also the Publisher of Blazon.Online a curated portal featuring great content for marketers.

Educated in Marketing at University of Toronto, Derek applies creativity to his business strategy while placing a strong emphasis on results. At one point in time, seven of the nine brands handled by his full service ad agency were #1 in their categories in Canada.

Anna Liscio – Klick Health

Anna Liscio is passionate about people and leadership development with a focus on building out expertise in marketing technologies, particularly in the email space. She leads the Campaign Enablement & Optimization team at Klick Health, a leading health & pharmaceutical marketing agency in Toronto. Prior to joining Klick, she held various roles focused in operational, digital and executional verticals at TD Bank. Outside of the office, Anna is a leadership development consultant who helps startups and small businesses thrive through organizational structure, leadership and soft skill development. Anna is also proud to be part of the email marketing community through the Toronto Email Marketing & CRM Meetup and #emailgeeks Slack community. In her spare time, Anna enjoys exploring the city to find some of Toronto’s best hidden gems, traveling, reading (a lot of email marketing articles!) and being active.
